One of the BCC’s newest members, The Building Futures Group, has been forced to close after its Board decided the company was no longer viable.
BFG was founded just two years ago following a merger of Asset Skills and the Facilities Management Association, and there was high hopes that a merged trade association dedicated to servicing the needs of the facilities management and cleaning sectors, would prove highly successful.
But despite securing over £350,000 of funding to provide cleaning sector apprenticeships, and developing successful projects like, ‘Routes to Employment’ the business environment proved too tough for the new association.
It comes as the Cleaning and Support Services Association (CSSA) relaunch on February 1st, after deciding against merging with BFG and FMA in 2014.
BCC Chairman, Simon Hollingbury, said he was very sad to hear about the demise of The Building Futures Group and wished all the staff the best of luck in securing alternative employment.
