NCCA Celebrates 50 Years With Gala Dinner And Member Awards

BCC member the National Carpet Cleaners Association (NCCA) recently celebrated their 50th anniversary with a special dinner and awards ceremony to recognise the achievements of members and the history of the association.

The Association is run by CEO, Dave Wheadon with support from the Board of Directors and his dedicated Office Team. The NCCA acts as an unbiased organisation to ensure it delivers on its mission statement which states: “The establishment and maintenance of professional standards within the carpet, soft furnishings, leather and hard floor cleaning industry, with the dual aim of safeguarding the reputation of the industry and protecting its customers.”

Hosted in Stratford-Upon-Avon, the celebratory night reflected on both the history of the organisation and the previous Presidents which have helped the NCCA become the only nationally recognised trade association dedicated to the cleaning, restoration and protection of carpets, hard flooring and soft furnishings.

Over the course of the evening awards were given out to NCCA members across a wide range of categories.

These included Solution Cornwall Ltd (Best Membership Drive), BeSure Broking Services (Best Member Feedback), Keith Duggard (Best Online Contribution), Mark Jubb (Most Committed To Training) and Simon Whitehead (Best Newcomer).

The event also saw Special Recognition Awards presented to two members, Art of Clean and TopMark Cleaning, while Prochem Europe was given an individual Corporate award for their long-term support and commitment to the NCAA which has lasted over 40 years.

In addition, the NCAA took the opportunity to use the evening to highlight their Trusted Local Cleaner (TLC) of the Month scheme, an initiative which recognises the achievements of members on a more regular basis.

Recent recipients of the TLC award who were presented with a prize included Five Star Furnishing Care, Top 2 Bottom Cleaning and Carpet Wizzard.

Commenting on the evening NCCA CEO Dave Wheadon said: “After half a century of promoting excellence within the carpet and floor cleaning sector the NCCA is still going from strength to strength.

“In the last 12 months alone we have seen over 100 new members join us, and last year we launched the Trusted Local Cleaners directory which has proven very successful.

“We therefore wanted to take the opportunity of our 50th anniversary to celebrate the commitment and professionalism of our members, and also to recognise the contribution to all of the board members and Presidents – both past and present – who have helped make the NCCA what it is today.”
