CHSA’s 2017 Undergraduate Bursary launched Up to Three Bursaries Available

The CHSA’s Bursary is back for 2017 and this year there is the potential for up to three lucky winners to start their university life with a big boost from the CHSA.

Each successful Undergraduate Scholar will be awarded a maximum of £4,500, receiving the Bursary in three installments, £1,500 at the start of each academic year or for the first three academic years if the degree is four years or longer.

The Bursary is open to the sons and daughters of CHSA members who on 1 September 2017 will be 18 years or over and commencing their higher education studies this year.

Applicants are assessed according to need, worthiness, endeavour, and overall performance. Each candidate brings something unique so the field of applicants is incredibly competitive.

With a passion for his subject – Chemical Engineering – and an intent to also study languages at university, Adam Jackson, the son of Helen Jackson who works for Deb Ltd, won the inaugural Bursary in 2016. He used the Bursary to buy textbooks and support his studies and is now averaging over 80% in his assignments.

The employees of CHSA members work hard and this Bursary provides us with an opportunity to say thank you. The Bursary also introduces the next generation of talent to the industry.

Application forms are available from Linda Belcher the Secretary of the CHSA (secretary@chsa.co.uk). They need to be completed and returned by 30 June 2017.

Those shortlisted will be interviewed in July by a selection panel to be led by David Garcia.
