BBC Presenter to Host CHSA Golf Day Awards

Dan Walker, presenter of Football Focus, BBC Breakfast and Radio 5 Live’s Afternoon Edition, is hosting the CHSA Awards later this month.

This years annual Golf Day is taking place at Oulton Hall in Yorkshire on 15 September, with the Awards Dinner taking place in the evening.

The day will start with the ‘big break challenge’ – golfers and non-golfers alike can test their aim, hitting a golf ball at a huge pane of glass.

There’s also the Stableford Pro-Am tournament and the personal challenge of a tough course for those with a golfing prowess.

Non-golfers can take part in a fun hour of golf, with everything from a little light tuition to crazy golf and, there are spa treatments available for those who just want to take it easy.

“Our golf day is always a popular fixture in the calendar,” said Shaun Chatterton, CHSA Council member and the driving force behind the Golf Day, “and this year we’ve opened the doors wider to make it bigger than ever!

Organisers say the event has almost sold out, but anyone interested should contact Secretary, Linda Belcher (secretary@chsa.co.uk)

The CHSA’s Golf Day always generates a great deal for charity.  After raising more than ever at the Annual Gala Ball, £8,300, the ambition is to maintain that record and raise an extraordinary amount for the Chairman’s Charity, Helping Treat Cancer Together.  The Helping Treat Cancer Together Committee helps cancer patients with treatment costs the NHS will not fund where the patient’s doctors believe there is a reasonable chance the treatment will provide a cure, prolong life expectancy or improve quality of life.
