CIWM’s Chief Executive, Steve Lee, was the recipient of the prestigious Editor’s Award at the MRW National Recycling Awards.
Steve Lee said he was “humbled and delighted” to receive the award. He thanked MRW and acknowledged the work and contribution of the team around him at CIWM. He was unable to attend the actual event, but sent a video which was played at the ceremony.
Speaking about Steve, MRW editor Robin Latchem said: “I can’t think of anyone else who better deserved the Editor’s Award this year, coming as it does shortly before he stands down as chief executive of CIWM. He has played a key role in the industry over the past 13 years and led from the front with charisma and enthusiasm in equal measure. It was typically modest of him in his acceptance speech at the National Recycling Awards that he should praise colleagues. I’ve no doubt that whoever replaces Steve will have been attracted to the job because of what Steve has made of it – and CIWM.”
