Price Bailey’s Offices in Old Broad Street, London, was the venue for the CSSA’s first board meeting since relaunching in February.
Members were invited to reconstitute the board of directors and executive management bodies, which has resulted in the CSSA now having one of the most experienced boards in the cleaning industry.
Former BCC Chairman and CEO of Principle Cleaning, Doug Cooke, returns as Chairman, Bob Vincent, Chairman of LCC Support Services, will be Vice-Chairman, and Mike Rutherford, Alba Victoria Cleaning and Support Services is Treasurer.
Executive Director, John Findlater, said: “Everyone on the board is passionate about improving the cleaning industry, and we have the best in the business at the helm. There’s some very big issues for the contract cleaning industry looming on the horizon, but this team of people can face any challenge head on, and our members will benefit enormously from the experience they bring.”
Board members also decided that, for the time being, the association would function with four management bodies to support the identified programmes and activities of the main board. These areas are: Health and Safety, Human Resources, Innovation and Technology and Marketing.
Over the summer the CSSA will be working with various partners to set up cleaning apprenticeships, and there’ll also be further details about a brand new awards scheme specifically for the contract cleaning sector.
