200 People Attend BCC Sponsored Event at Westminster

The British Cleaning Council had the honor of sponsoring an event on the Terrace Pavilion at the House of Commons, in recognition of the volunteers who took part in the recent Clean for The Queen Campaign.

Over 200 people attended the event organised by Keep Britain Tidy in their role as part of the Tidy Britain All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG).

The BCC’s voice in Parliament, Jim Fitzpatrick MP, got proceedings under way, and guests heard from amongst others; Rory Stewart MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary in Defra, Marcus Jones MP, Minister for Local Government, writer and activist Toby Young, and Allison Ogden-Newton, Chief Executive of Keep Britain Tidy.

In addition to saying a big ‘thank you’ to the volunteers who had taken part in Clean for the Queen, the focus was very much on how to continue to fight litter, and to create a lasting legacy for the recent campaign.
