High-profile national and international news website, the Huff Post, has made a short film about the work of cleaners during the Coronavirus crisis.

The British Cleaning Council (BCC) features in the video, which focuses on how cleanliness and hygiene have moved to the top of everyone’s agenda amid the Coronavirus pandemic but the Government’s Key Worker criteria excludes some cleaning staff.

Currently only cleaners serving some critical sectors – such as healthcare – are deemed to be critical and key workers.

The Huff Post film features an interview with BCC chairman Paul Thrupp, about the BCC’s call for all cleaners to be given critical and Key Worker status during the fight against Covid-19.

A hospital cleaner is also featured talking about their vital role during the pandemic.
