Labour Market Enforcement – Your Views Wanted

by : admin

The BCC has recently been approached to feedback a significant project linked to the  cleaning sector:

Earlier this year the Director of Labour Market Enforcement, Sir David Metcalf, warned rogue employers he would be consulting on how to make full use of powers to jail the worst offenders.

This followed the announcement in January 2017 of a government crackdown on exploitation in the workplace by setting the strategic priorities for the government’s three enforcement agencies.

Sir David is now looking to consult with business and worker representatives, industry bodies and enforcement action groups ahead of publishing his first full labour market enforcement strategy later this year. The BCC and it members have been invited to take part in the consultation which closes on October 13th.
